The 14th annual Exposure event broke records by featuring 200 skaters from 22 different countries in vert, street and bowl.
Exposure Skate is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, girls and nonbinary individuals through skateboarding and teaching compassion through service. We offer a range of classes, camps, retreats, college scholarships and events for all ages which incorporate social and emotional learning through skateboarding, mindfulness and community service.
Exposure’s unique programming creates an outlet for women, girls and nonbinary individuals to build confidence, community, education and healthy mental and physical well-being.
Lesli Cohen and Amelia Brodka created the nonprofit in order to feature year-round programming dedicated to empowerment through skateboarding and compassion through service. In addition to skateboarding, Exposure’s programs include elements of giving back to at-risk communities, social and emotional development, inclusion, leadership, service and college scholarship opportunities.
Exposure Skate has helped to raise $300,000 for Domestic Violence Support programs. Our major event supports the CRC.
By creating welcoming spaces since 2012, Exposure Skate has cultivated a rich community that impacts participants and volunteers alike.

Exposure also works with communities to develop inclusive events throughout the globe. Past collaborations have included partnerships with Monster Skatepark in Sydney, Australia, Speaking engagements at Waikato University in New Zealand, a skatepark with free clinics at the 2023 Summer X Games, Exposure Weeks at Woodward West and Skate Sanctuary retreats for women, trans and nonbinary skaters.
Exposure’s competitions have created an avenue for amateur, professional and Olympic skateboarders to thrive. Since 2012, Exposure’s events have brought nontraditional skateboarders from 25 countries together to share their passion for skateboarding. Each event offers street, vert and bowl disciplines for skaters ranging in ability from amateur to pro.

What a powerful way to kick off the year! 🫶🛹
Last Saturday, we had our first Skate Rising learn-to-skate clinic of the year at @lvlupusa_ , where girls ages 4-16 received free, hands-on instruction from incredible pro-level and Olympic skateboarders. ✨
Before rolling together, participants took part in a goal-setting activity, writing down their goals, mapping out steps to achieve them and visualizing success to build confidence and motivation for the year ahead.
Thank you to @tidewellcoffeeco and @pathwater for keeping everyone fueled and hydrated on site, and to our amazing community for showing up with support and kindness. Together, we collected 160 canned and packaged food items to donate to the @sandiegocrc 🥰
